Leopards are among the most secretive big cats in the world, and seeing one is never a matter of luck alone. On this safari, we leave at the edges of the day, at first light or in the late afternoon, when the air is cool and the cats are most likely to be on the move. Your guide knows the terrain, the rocky outcrops and the favourite resting trees of [park / region], and plans each route around fresh signs rather than a fixed schedule.

Finding a leopard takes careful observation. Your guide watches for pug marks in the dust, listens for the sharp alarm calls of deer and langurs, and scans the branches and boulders where a spotted coat can vanish in plain sight. You will learn how to read these clues yourself, which turns every minute of the drive into part of the adventure, even before the cat appears.

When a sighting does happen, we keep a calm distance, switch off the engine and let the moment unfold in silence. We never chase, crowd or call to the animal. Our priority is the leopard’s comfort, and a relaxed cat will often stay in view much longer, giving you the time and quiet you need to watch and photograph it properly.

Wildlife is unpredictable, and no honest guide can promise a sighting. What we do promise is a patient, well-informed outing through beautiful country, with a good chance of seeing other animals along the way, such as deer, mongoose, monkeys, birds and sometimes sloth bears or jackals. Choose a half day for a focused morning or afternoon, or a full day for a slower pace and a better chance of finding that one special encounter.
