This day trek is a gentle but rewarding way to experience the forest on foot. We follow shaded paths beneath tall trees, cross small streams and climb to open ridges with wide views over hills / valleys / coastline. The route is chosen to suit the group’s fitness level, so you can walk at a comfortable pace and enjoy the surroundings rather than race through them.
Walking is one of the best ways to notice the details that vehicles pass by. Your guide points out animal tracks, claw marks on tree bark, fallen fruit, birdsong and medicinal or useful plants. You will start to see the forest as a living network of homes and pathways, and you will pick up small skills, like how to move quietly and where to look for movement.
Halfway through the day, we stop for a trail breakfast or lunch in a scenic spot, giving everyone time to rest, refuel and take photographs. Local food, fresh fruit and hot drinks are part of the experience, and we are happy to adapt the menu for dietary needs if you let us know in advance.
Please wear sturdy shoes, light clothing and a hat, and carry water, sun protection and insect repellent. We recommend this trek for beginners, families with older children and anyone who wants a full day outdoors without the demands of a long expedition. Our guide carries a first aid kit and keeps a steady eye on the weather and trail conditions, so your day stays safe and enjoyable.
